He moves for his beer, no not to break the bottle for further melee! He twists the cap off with his bare hands and takes a stinging sip.]

[Lays quietly for a moment, fingers tingling in a way that makes him smile a little lopsidedly.

Or maybe that was the split in his lip from the stool.

I meant what I said, Cori that right now there is no happily ever after in my long term future. There's too much out there I need to face yet, all of Time and Space. When the time comes for me to step back on that line, I want to do it knowing you have him and he has you and that two men I love won't be alone when I'm gone.

I don't know that I'd say I'm in love with my work.

[He thinks back to what the Doctor told him the other night.]

It's like a friend of mine told me, you look into the face of a child of any species and you see the potential of the universe in their eyes. 'I stop and think... if I didn't make all those hard decisions, that child might never be there, might never have a chance to be something great, to fall in love, to have their heartbroken... all those things that are worth existing for.'

And that's what I exist for.

[He steps back to sling his jacket over his shoulder and pick up his sunglasses, dusting them off before he puts them on. He glances to Jack again, offering the barest hint of an apologetic smile.]
