Episode 1: Sageing While Aging
Nov. 11th, 2007 04:32 pmIf you're just tuning in, let me congratulate you on being one of the few people who can still operate a radio without help from an adult. [laugh] But don't count yourself lucky yet, you're only lucky if you didn't get hit. For others it's not an option, they were never young and they'll never get old. That's fun stuff there, living in limbo. I hear that immortality's not all it's cracked up to be. Ask your nearest mortal neighbor what's on the horizon after they've gone over the hill; death. Ask your nearest vampire and the only thing they can count on is boredom after death. That's a pretty shitty deal, because sageing while aging turns into a stale act after the first couple centuries.
Not that the rest of you ephemeral bastards have it any easier. Every now and then I see a kid who's got potential and he throws it away for shit that goes obsolete the next week. I guess in this dump we'd call it a soul [heh]. He's got everything but the world, it's his right to be unhappy [puff of smoke]. Everyone's too wrapped up in their own personal story to consider perspective. You'd think with a colorful population somebody'd give her a call.
Hey maybe that's what this curse is about. Unless you're a programmed machine, you do most of your learning in those early formative years. Do you think the City is trying to drop a hint? [pause] No, it's just fucking with you as usual, but you know the whole thing about lemons. Have some fun while you're at it, play hero to those kidnappings, play victim to the corruption of innocence. The network will feel the weight of your shame in the morning.

"When I Grow Up" Garbage
"Jeremy" Pearl Jam
[ooc: Mod-approved! Songs are played between bits of dialogue. As far as the radio host is concerned, Cori's speaking anonymously and that applies to the written transcriptions on his LJ. It's just easier and more efficient to put them here instead of creating a 'ghost' account. So please consider Radio Entries as anonymous and any spam here will be answered by anonymous. Thanks guys ♥]
